Teleprompter App Reviews

Exceeds Expectatins

I am using Teleprompter to record an audio book. Very easy to use, bug free, and delivers all it promises. The only problem I had with it was that I wished for an easier way to pause and restart the scrolling… it’s been fixed in the Nov 25 update… I recommend it Don Schulze author of “A Life of Miracles” available wherever books are sold and soon a best selling audiobook!

Video Producer Had a Bad Day

This app failed completely today on a shoot. The previous version had workd fine, but today, after the 2.0 update, it ran once for one prompted script, then would not reopen. I had to buy another prompting app while my client waited for us to record 3 more segments. The only way to get rid of the heads-up display it to open another window - too much trouble and an unnecessary complication. The original app version I bought was appealing, this version is not.

The developer should be charging more money

I bought five teleprompter software solutions before finding this one. Why did I buy so many? Because every one of them fell short in one way or another. Either they were poorly programmed (or poor ports of PC prompter solutions), they had too many bugs, they lacked basic functionality, or they were simply not professional enough to use in front of a client. It has been a frustrating experience trying to find versatile professional teleprompter software for the Mac. I FINALLY found this software and my sanity has been saved. For starters… it “just works”. Not ony that, it works exceptionally well. The programmer clearly has chops and knows how to use Apple’s API’s (meaning that this app largely “feels” like an Apple-wothy product), that alone is a refreshing change from most of the other software options I have found. TP is extremely versatile and I was able to configure it to work perfectly with my dedicated prompter (not an iPad) and Macbook Pro. This app is more complicated than most I have used (because it is highly configurable and has many more options than most), but is still very easy to learn and very fast in day-to-day usage. Expect to spend a little bit of time with the online users manual. I really cant say enough good things about this software. Is it perfect? almost. Certainly better than anything else you will find for professional prompting on the Mac. I have contacted the developer and he has been extremely helpful and responsive. I can’t speak to others comments about the iPhone remote not working propely because I am using this software with a pro-level prompter, driven by my Macbook pro. But I CAN say that this guy knows what he is doing and clearly wants to make the best product on the market. I told him (sorry everyone) that he is charging too little for the app. Considering other options run from $59 to $99 for software that is terrible in comparison, he should be charging three times what he is currently and this would still be a great deal. I don’t mean to be such a fanboy, but this software has really saved my bacon….let alone my reputation.

Crashes

This product is great when it is running. I use it on a MacBook Pro running Yosemite and it crashes frequently, Like once every 20 minutes or so.

Works beautifully

I’ve been using this app for the past 3 months or so. It has worked flawlessly. I use it in combination with the iOS remote app, and its fantastic for self-recording in front of my DSLR for my teaching programs. I have not experienced the crashing that someone else mentioned. The author could charge more for this app, I’d happily pay it.

Teleprompter

This application does what it is supposed to do. It has many nice features that I didn’t know I needed till I started to work with it. Overall its easy to work with. Well worth the money.
